Eaton’s April 13, 2026 product release adds BECO CARBON ACF 04 to its activated-carbon-containing depth filter media. The development broadens its adsorption options for liquid processing, rather than introducing a universal replacement for every particulate filter.

What changed in the range

The release describes ACF 04 as a meso-/macroporous medium containing immobilized activated carbon. Eaton identifies decolorization and removal of selected unwanted organic material among its intended uses. It offers the media in flat sheets, stacked-disc cartridges and smaller single-use formats.

Eaton’s product overview places the family across fine-chemical, cosmetics, food and beverage and other liquid-processing applications. The announcement’s scale-up proposition is based on using the corresponding media across formats. It should not be read as proof that every liquid will achieve the same outcome at a different production scale.

Keep adsorption and particle retention distinct

For a buyer, our interpretation is to define the removal objective before comparing filter areas. Is the target color, a named dissolved impurity or suspended matter? Those are different acceptance questions even when one assembly contributes to more than one function.

A trial enquiry should identify the actual liquid, temperature, viscosity range and target component or quality parameter. Specify how the result will be measured and which desirable properties must remain. A visual color change alone may not answer a specification written around a particular compound.

Make the scale-up record reproducible

Ask the supplier to explain the proposed relationship between trial and production duty, including loading, flow and endpoint. Keep the trial’s feed condition and sampling method with the result. That allows a later batch to be compared on a consistent basis.

Include the complete filter assembly in the commercial review: housing, selected media format, installation and changeout arrangements, documentation and disposal requirements. Product-family availability does not establish the exact scope of an individual quotation.

The addition is relevant where immobilized carbon media could simplify an existing adsorption step. Its value should be demonstrated against the process’s actual quality target and operating constraints.

The reference photograph shows activated carbon in powder and solid forms. It illustrates the adsorbent material and is not a photograph of an Eaton filter sheet or evidence of the product’s internal construction.
